Although it was chilly, It didn't stop Year 3 from enjoying their mini Olympics. After promising to play fairly, the children competed against each other in the long jump, discus and a running race.
3CD enjoyed their trip to Ingleborough Cave in North Yorkshire. It was a lovely day and we were able to have a picnic by the river before going into the cave. We had a guided tour of the cave and we were very interested in the different features.
3T had to work in teams of four and cooperate with each other when they undertook the paper chain challenge. Each group was given just one piece of A3 paper, scissors and some glue to see who could make the longest paper chain. Congratulations to Aleena, Joseph, Tasnime and Denny-Joe for making the longest paper chain. .
Today Year 3 came to school dressed as gods and goddesses to take part in their Ancient Greek day. There were even some Spartan warriors and a very scary Medusa! The children made laurel wreaths and learnt a Greek dance which they showed their parents when they came into school this afternoon. The children also tried some Greek food. The pitta bread and grapes were declared delicious although the olives were an acquired taste! A good day was had by all!
