Art work in 3T

Image
3T experimented with the technique of pointillism in their art lesson this week. The children used cotton buds, corks and bubble wrap to make pictures using dots of paint. They had to really concentrate on their work. After a short time, the children produced some amazing pictures!

3T's visit to Bradshaw Brook, Bolton

Image
It was the turn of 3T to visit Bradshaw Brook in the Seven Acres Nature Reserve, Bolton as part of their new topic on rivers. First the children were told about some of the features they would see in Bradshaw Brook. Then they went to look at the features for themselves before taking soil and water samples to investigate back in the classroom. After lunch, the children took samples of river water to look for aquatic invertebrates.  Finally, the visit ended with a duck race so that the speed of the river could be measured. The children learnt a lot about rivers while thoroughly enjoying themselves.
